The legendary medium-range pulse distance meter was made in 1997. The instrument is known as the first true pulse distance meter which enabled the measurement of distances without the use of reflectors. The instrument measures the distance by the reflection of the beam off natural and artificial surfaces up to a distance of 350 m with a precision of one centimeter. Measurements using reflectors have a range of 8 km and a precision of 3-5 mm; 1 ppm.

The instrument was used at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering for teaching and professional work in combination with a Carl Zeiss Jena 010A optical theodolite and a Leica T 1800 electronic theodolite. A number of range and precision tests for measurements on different reflective surfaces were carried out as part of thesis works. The instrument is very well preserved and still fully functional.
