The compensating level was made in 1963. It is a simple instrument without any foot screws for levelling. The Kern system, using a circular level, enables levelling by moving the conical support over the spherical head of a tripod adapted for it. The instrument is light, compact and very practical to use. It is more precise than the older model GK0-A, being able to achieve a precision of 1.5 mm for 1 km double-run levelling.
The instrument is in the same condition as when it was originally taken out of service.
