The laser level or laser pointing device has an interesting serial number 00052, which stands out from the manufacturer's serial number system. It was most probably made in the 1970s. The massive instrument enables the realization of the line of sight with laser light and thus solving specific tasks in engineering geodesy.

The light for the reference line is emitted by a He-Ne laser. The tilting screw is used to change the tilt of the line-of-sight axis with a micrometer. The precision of the tilt is 1 millimeter per 100 meters. A sexagesimal division with a graduation unit of 1° is engraved on the metal bracket above the base.

The instrument is in the same condition as when it was originally taken out of service.
