The optical electronic tacheometer was made in the 1970s. Its special feature is that the electronic distance meter is added to the analogue optical theodolite Theo 010A. The distance meter uses the optics of the theodolite telescope for its transmitting and receiving optics. The axis of the distance meter coincides with the collimation axis of the theodolite.
The electro-optical phase distance meter is mounted in a solid housing between the theodolite and the tribrach. The instrument communicates via an external keyboard, which can also be used to perform simple calculations. By entering a zenith distance value, you can, for example, calculate the horizontal distance and height difference. The precision of the distance meter is 5 mm; 10 ppm.
The tacheometer is very awkward to use from today's point of view, but in the past, it greatly simplified the tacheometric measurement procedures. It was used mainly by students in practical classes, mostly for measuring in polygon nets. It was also present at the construction site of Steelworks 2 in Jesenice. The instrument is in the same condition as when it was originally taken out of service.
